Last month, we discussed the best strategies for getting a good deal on a new or used vehicle this summer.
While everybody wants to get a great deal, as this allows them to save money, there is something you must first consider: is now truly the best time to make a purchase?
You may be tempted at the thought of buying a new car. You may have fallen in love with a vehicle, and are willing to do whatever it takes to make a deal. But before you get too far ahead of yourself, consider this: you may be better off keeping your current car.
Here are three questions that will help you determine if now is the best time to buy a new car:
1. What are your primary reasons for buying right now? If you don’t have at least one good reason, you need to reconsider your strategy. A good reason would be this: your current car is broken down and is too costly to repair. Here is a bad reason: your neighbor purchased a new car and you want to do the same.
2. Does it fit your budget? As exciting as it can be to purchase a new car, you only want to do so if it fits into your budget. To answer this question, you need to review your budget to determine how much you can comfortably spend.
3. Have you done your research? You don’t want to pull the trigger on a new vehicle until you have completed your research and compared several options that are high on your list.
