By preparing your car for the cold winter season to come, you have less to worry about when the temperatures plummet and the snow picks up.
Are you worried about trashing the interior of your car this winter? If so, you are not alone. While there isn’t much you can do to protect the exterior of your vehicle, you have a bit more control on the inside.
Here are a few things you can do to keep your car interior clean this winter:
1. Use winter mats. The last thing you want to do is step into your car, time and time again, with wet, muddy, and salt filled shoes. Soon enough, your carpeted mats will look a mess and you will be wondering how they will ever be restored.
When you use winter mats this is never a problem. These rubber mats collect all the dirt and debris that comes with the winter weather. When spring rolls around, you can squirt these off and store them until the next year.
2. Take some care before entering. Even though you may be in a hurry to reach the warmth of your vehicle, don’t jump inside until you “kick” your shoes a couple of times. This can go a long way in keeping some of the sludge on the outside.
3. Don’t let it get too far ahead of you. Rather than let the interior of your car get worse and worse with each passing day, clean it once a week or so. This may sound like a lot of work, but it is better than letting the mess get ahead of you.
