I first took my car to Fairfax Auto Repair because I could not get a dealer to respond to my calls in a quasi-emergency situation: a dead battery (atypical, so not easily replaced) with an AAA charge that would last only until I arrived at a service center. Since then, I have used them exclusively. They are knowledgeable and responsive, and will work to get you into their schedule if the problem is urgent. They will investigate complicated problems until a solution is found. They explain to you what is going on and will not try to have you do repairs you do not need (although they will tell you that something will need to be done soon). My only reservation is that they are not cheap: this is no hidden bargain of amazing mechanics who are willing to work for peanuts. So, they are not for everyone. But, if you want honest service and believe that people should be compensated for their expertise, this will be a good place for you.
