My overall impression is that this is a good repair shop. However, I was uncomfortable with the original person who was handling things at the front desk. I found myself often confused throughout the car repair process. Some of this is due to my ignorance when it comes to car repairs. He did not ask me about the symptoms that led to our request for repair. I assumed that I told him that the car was squeaking. It is possible that I failed to tell him this piece of information because I had called so many repair places before. However, I do think that a repair shop should ask for this information before proceeding with repairs. When the work was almost done, I asked if the squeaking was fixed. He said he was unaware of this problem and that they were doing the work I requested. This left me alarmed that I might be paying for an unneeded repair. I was shocked that a repair shop would just accept our diagnosis, which left me concerned that they replaced a part without first making sure that the part was in need of replacement. He also explained an expensive problem that they discovered with our car in such a poor way that my child was afraid to ride home in the car. Near the end of the process, a man named Peter came in ( I think he is the owner.). He did an excellent job of allaying my fears. He even went to the back to show me that the part they replaced was indeed in need of replacement. He assured me that his mechanic would not replace a part that didn’t need to be replaced. He also said that the problem they discovered did not put us in immediate danger but did need to be addressed. If I had originally dealt with Peter, then I think I would have returned to this shop. My guess is that the mechanic did a good job based on their good rating with Angie’s List. I don’t want to go to a place where I cannot trust the person at the front desk. The next day, I took my $1200+ repair to a different highly rated Angie’s List company. I was much more comfortable with this place and will be returning to them in the future.
