I found Fairfax Auto Repair on Angie List and chose them because they had an excellent rating, including an “A” rating in price. I got several maintenance things taken care of on my BMW, and while it was expensive, it was probably way cheaper than what the dealership would have cost me. One thing that gave me pause was that they recommended I replace a small plastic 1/2″-thick high-pressure tube. They showed me the tube in question, maybe 2′ long max connecting two parts of the coolant system. While I realize that the coolant system gets boiling hot, and that the tube can’t just be something you pick up at Walmart, it seems a bit much that they wanted $54 for the tube and then $100 to install it. However the overall service was excellent, vehicle is in great shape and runs fine now, passed inspection no problems, and was returned to me when they said they would on time. I do plan to use them again but I will probably price-shop first to make sure they are not overcharging.
