This was the first time I was taking my 2001 Mazda Miata to anyone other than a Mazda dealership. I have owned the car all these years and it has less than 50,000 miles. I fixed up an appointment (the repair shop was prompt in reminding me of my appointment and provided a easy online facility for doing so). I was pleasantly greeted when I arrived for my appointment. I was given an initial estimate though I should have probably dropped off the car for the day. I hung around for three hours before I realized that the parts had come in later and that one of the parts was bent. The shop courteously dropped me home and apologized for the inconvenience and told me that the job would definitely be fixed next day once the right parts came in. Sure enough, I received a call that my car was ready. In addition to the repairs, they had performed a multi-point complementary check of the car, washed the car and dropped off a water bottle. The charges for labor were reasonable and in the ballpark of what I expected but the charges for parts for a 16 year old car were quite expensive. The work was done well and the car functions beautifully. I give Fairfax Auto Repair 5 stars because: 1. Prompt and courteous customer service 2. Goof communications when problems come up 3. Fair labor charges 4. Competence and skill in effecting a repair completely and thoroughly 5. Customer orientation at all times. I plan to visit this dealership more often for other problems with this car as well as other cars in the future.
